Earthy 'Wanted Not Wasted' Big Table

8th May from 7:30pm at Earthy Canonmills, 1-6 Canonmills Bridge EH3 5LF

Never before have so many consumers been so well educated on the food that they eat, nor have we ever been exposed to the variety of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and goods as we are today. However, the castaways of our ever-growing consumerism are often overlooked - the wonky carrots, the stale bread and items that have passed an imposed date.

Earthy has been a champion of sustainable food and goods in Edinburgh since 2008 and this 'Wanted Not Wasted' Big Table aims to put food waste firmly on the map - joining the likes of chefs such as Dan Barber and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.

Join us as we come together; Slow Food, Earthy, Zero Waste Scotland, Changeworks and other guests for an evening of lively discussion as well as delicious food and drink with a twist.

Edinburgh Farmers Market

The Edinburgh Farmers' Market is every Saturday from 9am on Castle Terrace in the West End of the city centre, right under Edinburgh Castle. On the first Saturday of every month, we run a Slow Food stall at the market to promote the ‘Good, Clean and Fair’ message. Often, we'll be joined by a local chef and will cook up something simple and delicious, showcasing ingredients from the market. We've recently welcomed chefs from Coulston Cookery School, v Deep and The Real Junk Food Project as well as from Gilmerton, Gracemount and Moredun Grow Stronger community projects.
