We're pleased to share some very exciting news with you all! Slow Food Edinburgh is delighted to announce that Carlo Petrini, President of Slow Food International, will be visiting Scotland this February.
Journalist, author and advocate for a sustainable food system, Carlo Petrini has been working since the 1980’s to promote eco-gastronomy. In 1989 the Slow Food Manifesto was signed by over twenty delegations from around the world, and Petrini was elected president, an office he still holds today.
As part of his trip, Carlo Petrini will be visiting Edinburgh and there are several opportunities for you to hear from this inspiring orator and activist.

Thought for Food: Carlo Petrini on cultivating a positive food future in Scotland
Hawthornden Lecture Theatre, National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh
Organised by Queen Margaret University and Slow Food Scotland, Carlo Petrini will be speaking about our increasing disconnection from what we eat, and what we can do to return to good, clean and fair food. With additional contributions from Mike Small (Fife Diet) and producer Denise Walton (the award-winning Peelham Farm), it promises to be an exceptional evening and one not to be missed for anyone with an interest in the food issues of our day.
Drinks and canapes will be served beforehand in the Scottish Cafe and Restaurant (£10/£8 concession including Slow Food members).
Entrance to the lecture is free but you must have a ticket to attend. Ticket reservations and further details can be found here
